Post members recognized the community of Greenwater for the support and hospitality they have shown over the years. The Greenwater community puts on a potluck dinner each year for the Warrior Walk hikers as they pass Chinook Pass. They “Walk off the War” along the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mexico border to the Canadian border.

The Washington National Guard Unit had been called to active duty for the past six months. We brought them lunch to celebrate their return from active status.
Open House for all those who contributed to the post’s building improvement fund. This was our opportunity to show them all the improvements that their contribution made possible. The auxiliary prepared punch and cookies, and we provided coffee, chips, snacks and fruit.

King County Helps with Building Fund
VFW Post 1949 received $2,500 to help remodel our facilities from the King County 2015-2016 Mid Biennium budget. Councilmember Reagan Dunn advocated for the funds to be set aside for the remodel of this widely used Community Center.
